Speedy Fox and Friends - Tissue Paper Challenge

Here is the last Speedy Fox Challenge for 2012.    We have been challenged to use tissue paper.   My first thought was to do this shopping bag with tissue paper and then I realized how perfect it would be to pair it up with the "You've Got Style" stamp set, that was just released last week over at Mark's Finest Paper.      Once I got my bag done, I decided the bag would look cute with a tissue paper flower.
This is the first one I have ever made and it was pretty fun.  I like how it fluffs up so easily.   Please come over to our blog and play along with us this week.  Someone always wins a nice stamp set.  You do not have to use Mark's Finest Paper stamps, but your name will be entered in the drawing twice if you do.

I am wishing you all a very Happy New Year.  What is the tradition in your area for cooking on  New Years day for prosperity?   Ours is to cook beans so our menu usually consists of  corned beef, beans, fried potatoe's and cabbage.

Santa Snow Globe

Here is the last Christmas card for 2012.   I had this snow globe cut out and ready to make a card with it, but somehow did not get around to it until now.  I started out wanting a blue sky with dotted white vellum.  The Santa did not show through it very well so I changed it to this one and I I like it much
better.   The Santa is a Mark's Finest Paper stamp,  the template is from Cutting Cafe, I used liquid appliqué,  paper studio paper and colored with copics.

Thanks for coming by today.   I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Clouds and Sun

Yee Haw,  here we are again  and it is time for the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge.  Today we are making projects with sun and clouds.  I chose to use the Mark's Finest Paper stamp set, "Hey Cowboy".  I used a template to sponge my clouds.   I wanted to make the sun to have rays coming down from it so I used a piece of paper to sponge the edge and kept moving it around the sun to create that look.  I know this is a busy time for everyone, but I do hope you will join us for our blog challenge.

Here is a card I made today with a Penny Black stamp "Elf Mim".    I received this stamp for my birthday from a friend.   I finally got to ink her up and I really like the way she turned out.    I put glitter on her hat and  I bet I am wearing some on my face, too.   ~smile~

I hope you are getting all your preparations done for the upcoming Christmas holiday.

Squigglefly -red and green

Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals over at the Squigglefly Blog are giving the challenge this week.  They have challenged everyone to make a red and green card.   It does not have to be Christmas although when I think of the red and green color combo that is what pops in my mind.  I used the  new  Squigglefly image called "Winter Clothes" by Fawn Palmer.   I hope that you will come on over to the Squigglefly Blog and join us for our challenge.   You do not have to use a Squigglefly image and you just might win a free Squigglefly image if you link your card up to Mr. Linky.

Amaryllis Definition

I made this card for the Queen for the day challenge over at Splitcoast. Pam MacKay is the queen.  I used a new stamp set that just came out this week, called Amaryllis Definition, by Mark's Finest paper, colored with copics and the paper is color bok Flea Market.  Seems like I have been on a blue kick with my cards, but today I am back to making the pink ones.  I definitely like the pink and brown color combo.

Thanks, for coming by to check it out and for the nice comments.

Sand Dollar Sketch Challenge

Here is a card I made for the Splitcoast sketch challenge today.  I have an over abundant amount of blue scraps and I wanted to do the center of the sand dollar in blue so I was in luck when it came to a mix of dp's to go with it.    The papers are all from Paper Studio.  The sand dollar is one of Mark's Finest Papers stamps.  The sentiment is also a Mark's stamp from the set " ATrip to Lancaster".
I colored the image with copies B91, 000, E30, 00, 000.

Winter Wonderland-SFC4812

The challenge over at Squigglefly is given by Holley Hobbists today and they are doing a winter wonderland theme.  I chose to use this pre-colored Inger Harding image.   I love the pre-colored images.  It is so easy to make a card when time is limited.  My DH is still on the mend from his surgery so I haven't had a lot of time to dedicate to card making so this was a perfect image for me to work with.   I added some stickles on the snow and that was all I did to the image.  Easy peasy.  I thought this
October Afternoon paper was perfect to use with my image.  Due to limited time, I used this card for the TSC challenge, too.

Have a great day and I will see you again soon.

Challenges:
craftycalendarchallenge - White Christmas
Cute Card Thursday - Snowflakes

CCEE 1248- Ribbon Weave

This week Vicky is the hostess for the CCEE Stampers challenge and she challenged us to make a card
and lace our ribbon through a bracket, a piece of lattice work or card stock.  I started off with a Paper Cupcakes image and popped it up on the blue embossed paper.   I used a border punch and weaved my ribbon through it.  Why don't you head on over to the CCEE Stampers and join us for the challenge.  We would love to see how you use your ribbon.

Winter scene - Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek of one of the new sets that is now in The Marks' Finest Paper
store.  This one is called Winter scenes.  I used stickles, liquid pearls and glitter paper to give it some bling.  I also added some branches made with silver paper and green glitter paper.  My bow was, once again, tied with my trusty fork.

Thanks for stopping by today to take a peek.

Paper Cupcakes - Sparkles

Ildiko, a Paper Cupcakes design team member, gave the challenge this week over at the challenge blog and she wants the team  to use any Paper Cupcake image and add some sparkle.   That means we could use glitter, stickles, foil paper, glitter paper or anything that gives sparkle to our cards.  I used some glitter on the Paper Cupcakes image, "It's My Party".  I also punched some balloons from glitter paper.   I do hope you will come on over to "There's Magic in the Air" blog and play along with us.  You do not have to use a Paper Cupcake image, but if you do, you will be entered in the drawing for a free digi, twice instead of only once.  Nina may also have a discounted image available, too.   See you there.

Glitter and Bling it up

Glitter and Bling it up is the name of the game.   Rhonda's Rowdy Rascal's are giving the challenge over at the Squigglefly Blog and the say use glitter and bling.   I chose to use the Squigglefly image Antique Ornament #5 by Lynne Stansbery.  I have used stickles on the ornament for the glitter and put gems in the corners for the bling.   The paper I used is by Paper Studio that was in my scraps bag from last year.  I love getting to use up some of the leftover scraps.   I colored the image with copics.  Come on over to the  Squigglefly Blog and see what the team has colored up for you this week.   Upload your card with glitter and bling to be entered in the drawing for a free digi.

Thanks, for coming by today.

Speedy Fox and Friends #135

Here it is time for another  fun Speedy Fox Challenge.    The challenge this week is to follow a recipe, use one layer, two colors and three embellishments.   I chose to use one of the new sets, "Big City", that will be in the Mark's Finest Paper store soon.  I thought this would be a great time to do a sneak peek of it.  I liked how quick I could make a card with it.   I used a spellbinder to cut out a rectangle on a piece of copy paper and centered it on my card stock.  I sponged all around with blue and then stamped my image.    I hope you will come over to the Speedy Fox and Friends blog and play along with us today.  As always, they are giving one lucky winner  a nice stamp set.

Here is another card I made with the "Big City" stamps, but used two colors this time.

Pretty Poppies

I made this card for the Splitcoast Stampers WT402 challenge which was to make a black and white card with a touch of color. It is also for the Splitcoast Stampers F4A144 challenge to make a card with glitter on it. I used stickles for the centers of the poppies and added some bling.  The image is a Paper Cupcakes digital image.

Punched Giraffe

Here is a card I am sending out to one of the tea potters from over at Splitcoast Stampers.     She just had a birthday so this is a belated birthday card for her.   I made this at a Stampin' Up class so I cannot take credit for the design.  I thought it was really cute.

It is in the upper 20's here this morning.   I think we had frost on the pumpkins, as the saying goes.

Have a wonderful day.

In the Meadow we can Build a Snowman

The Paper Cupcakes  challenge for this week is given by Angie and she has challenged us to make a card with this "Snowman with a Tree" image which is a new release.   I thought he was pretty cute and wanted to dress him up in a plaid jacket by using the paper piecing technique.  Angie also asked us to use one or more snowflakes with our snowman.   If you would like to play along in our challenge, go over to There's Magic in the Air Blog.   Nina always gives one lucky person a free digi each week and this new image is free for 48 hours.  You can go on over to the blog and see the other team members cards this week and upload your card to the blog.

Thanks, for stopping by today.

A Jolly Ole' Soul - Oldie but goodie

Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals have a challenge going over at the Squigglefly blog  called Oldie but Goodie.  We are to make a card with one of the older images in the Squigglefly store.    I chose to use this adorable snowman, "Snowy Card" by Marla Shega.   I had no idea where I was going with this image when I started.  Sometimes that works out and sometimes not so good.   I happened to like the end results on this little guy along with the paper I had that would go with him.  I am terrible about coloring an image to find out I have not paper that matches.  I got lucky this time. Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing my "Jolly Ole Soul".   Stop by the Squigglefly blog to see what the other gals have made, you can also check out the details of this challenge.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping in to see what is happening here in Boxertown.

This week, the CCEE Stamper's challenge is to make a card using only a portion of our embossing folder.  We can choose any theme we like  but we were reminded that  Christmas is  just around the corner!!!  My ef had a portion of the card not embossed so I  hope this is permissable,  I don't want the challenge police to come knocking on my door.  ~grin~

Won't you join the CCEE stampers in this challenge?  Don't forget to add your card to Mr. Linky at the bottom of the  blog page so we can see your wonderful cards!

This is also for the Twisted Sister's challenge this week which is to make a one layer Christmas card.

Holly Jolly Greetings Sketch Challenge

The sketch challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers is pretty fun today.   It is both fun and easy.   I like easy peasy so here is the Christmas card I made this morning.     It is rainy here and cool.   I hope it is a great day wherever you are.

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Just a little goofiness

I filled another's spot to give the Twisted Sister challenge at the last minute so off the top of my head, I challenged them to make a humorous Christmas card with a banner.  I know that Christmas is a serious thing and that it is all about the birth of Jesus.   I also think that God gave me a sense of humor to use, even though some say I have an off the wall sense of humor.   Oh, well.  :)  Even after I gave this challenge, I had a hard time coming up with a Christmas image for humor.   I went through already stamped images and found this one, thanks to a friend.   I added the North Pole to the Street sign and made up this computer generated sentiment.

Thanks for looking.

Speedy Fox and Friends #132 - All about Rick Rack

It's Saturday, that means it is time for another fun challenge over at Speedy Fox and Friends.
The challenge for this week is to make a card using Rick Rack.  I chose to use a border punch that looks like Rick Rack.  I used one of the brand new stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers - a Heinrich Company, called "Poinsettia Blooms".  I hope you will go over to the blog to see what the other team members have made and to upload your card to our challenge.   You will have until Friday, November 9th 2012 to post your card.  You are not required to use a Mark's Finest Paper stamp, but if you do,  you will be entered twice into the drawing.  There is always a nice stamp set given away to the winner, but you have to enter to be in the drawing to win.

I Am In Love - Squigglefly Sneak Peek

Oh, my, am I ever in love with this adorable Squigglefly image called "Devotion" by Lynne Stansberry.   This is a sneak peek of one of the new images that will be available on Saturday.
Most of you who know that I am a dog lover so this was the perfect image for me to work with.
I know this dog is not a boxer, but my boxers have  natural ears so this kind of reminds me of one of mine.  No wonder I am so drawn to it.   Be sure and stop by the Squigglefly Store on Saturday and check out the new images.

The paper I used for my card is Doodlebug designs, the sentiment is Stampin' Up and I used copics for my coloring.

Thanks for stopping by.

CCEE Stampers - Pressed Flowers

It is time for another fun challenge with the CCEE gals.  Vicky gave the challenge this week.  We are to make a card with faux pressed flowers.   I used a Stampin' Up stamp set and added some butterflies that my friend, Greenie, sent me.  I colored the pearls with copics to match my other colors.   I hope you will stop by the CCEE Stamper's Blog to join us for our challenge and to check out the other team members cards, too.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Holly Jolly Soul - Sketch challenge

I really liked the sketch challenge over at splitcoast stampers today.   It gave me an opportunity to use up some scraps and make several cards to give to a friend for her birthday.  This little snowman from squigglefly makes me smile, isn't he cute?    Okay, I have to get busy here and get something done before the day is totally gone.  I bet you never have that problem.  It's just me, right?

Thanks, for coming by today.

Another cupcake

Here is another card  I made with the image "Pretty in Pink" that Nina over at Paper Cupcakes drew for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  This time I decided to make a Rocker card.

I hope all my friends on the East Coast are doing okay.  They have sure had some terrible weather.

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Cupcakes - Pretty in Pink

Since October is Breast Cancer awareness month and the color for that is PINK, the  Paper Cupcake/There' Magic in the Air Design team decided to make cards for this occasion and Nina drew up a special image for it.  You can find this image over at the Paper Cupcake store.  I really liked the simplicity of this card so I did not add a lot of extras, the rick rack was gifted to me by my friend Kathy and I think it was perfect to wrap up my card.  I contemplated coloring the paper wrapper on the cupcake, but decided that would take away from it.    Our cards are suppose to be made with 75% of the card being pink.   If you do, Nina will put your name in the drawing twice for a chance to win a free Paper Cupcake image.  Since we all have either had breast cancer affect us or someone we know so how about joining us for this challenge.   I am happy to say I am a 17 year breast cancer survivor, no wonder I like pink.

Thanks, for stopping by.

Two Squares for Squigglefly Challenge

Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals over at Squigglefly Blog has a challenge this week to put to squares on our cards.  I chose to use this beautiful image "Apples and Pumpkins" by Lynne Stansbery, a Squigglefly
digital image.   Once again,  I was drawn to pumpkins and bright colors.  My main image may be on a circle, but it is backed by a square and my card base is square so I think this is qualified for the Squigglefly challenge.  Why don't you come on over to the Squigglefly Blog and join us for the challenge.   Someone always wins a image of their choice if they are the lucky winner.   You do not have to use a squigglefly image, but if you do, you will be entered in the drawing twice.

Newly Released - Cracked Hello

Here is a card made with one of the new releases from Mark's Finest Paper this week.   I really like the butterfly and it also comes with a neat cracked back ground that is pretty neat, along with some sentiments.  The get well sentiment I used came from another set called Flaps My Wattle.  I  like the simplicity of this CAS card.

One thing for sure is, seeing butterflies will only be on cards for a while, at lease for me.  Both the butterflies and my humming birds have already flown away for the winter.   It was around 80 today and Friday it will drop to about 50.  Brrrrrrrrrrr, old man winter is on his way.

Thanks for stopping in.

Speedy Fox and Friends #130-Leaves

It is time for another  great challenge over at Speedy Fox and Friends.   Our challenge theme is to make a card with Leaves.   I have plenty in my front yard, I could have used them, but I really think using this

We look forward to seeing your wonderful creations and commenting on your beautiful cards. You have until 3PM on Friday  Oct. 26 2012 to post your card. Mark's Sneak Peek - TS Challenge

The Twisted Sisters challenge for today was to make a wintery card, snow related, Christmas, etc..
I chose to use this image from Mark's Finest Paper called "Poinsettia Blooms".   This set will be available next week.  I really like this image and it has some other great stamps in the set, as well.
I thought this looked great with this embossing folder.   I used the Martha Stewart branch punch to punch the branches around the lantern.    You are welcome to do the Twisted Sister's challenge, just use the keywords TSC1019 when you upload it to Splitcoast stampers.

Here is another card I made for the Mark's Finest Paper Sneak Peak.  I used two stamp sets that will be released next week.   The window and the sentiment is from "Enjoy the View".   The scene is from "On The Fly".

Thanks, for stopping in today to see what I have created.   I hope you are enjoying the sneak peeks.

Ghostie Superman colors

Being we are in the month of October, Brenda thought  it was time for the CCEE stampers to ink up with some gorgeous colors. The challenge this week is to use Fall colors with leaves and a punched border.   I used the image Ghost Superman, a Squigglefly image,  by Denise Clemmensen.   I bet you didn't know that a ghost superman wore different colors than Clark Kent.    In the ghostie world, they wear Halloween colors.   ~giggle~    My designer paper has different colors of leaves on it and orange is a beautiful color for both fall and Halloween.

Be sure to create your card or project and make a link to our CCEE Stampers challenge on your blog or Splitcoaststampers. Use the keywords CCEE1241.

This card is also for the Squigglefly challenge, SFC4012  to use Specialty Paper.   My corner is made with blue vellum.

I hope you are having a fantabulous fall, it has been really nice here.

Paper Cupcakes - It's Fall

The challenge over at There's Magic in the Air is to make a fall card.    This is one of my favorite Paper Cupcakes   fall images.   Maybe because it has the big sunflower in front of the pumpkin.  I really like sunflowers.  I decide to add the banner and pulled out some a clear alphabet set for it  The acorns in the top corner are from a set by Mark's Finest Paper.   I used a MS branch punch for the greenery.  The paper is by Paper Studio and I colored the image with copics.

We would love to have you come on over to There's Magic in the Air and join us for our challenge.  You are not required to use a Paper Cupcake image, but if you do, you get your name in the challenge twice for the drawing of a free image to be given away.  I hope you win as I think Nina will have some new images in the store in a few day.
