My First Bible Journaling Page

This is the first page that I have done in my Journaling Bible.   I was afraid to stamp in it for fear of making a mess of it.  I think it went pretty well other than I smeared my Jelly Roll pen that I had colored my shell with. The stamps used are from Our Daily Bread Designs, they have some really nice journaling stamps.   I used Memento Luxe ink for stamping,  Jelly Roll pens, prisma pencils and regular pencils for coloring.   I first chalked over my stamping and then I sponged some ink over the top of it because it was not dark enough in some places.  I have listed the things I used just incase you are trying to figure out what to use in your journaling Bible.   I also would love to hear what things have worked well for you as I still need more supplies  to work with.

Thank you for looking and I am looking forward to hearing some new tips from you.  Have a great weekend.

  2. Shirley, this page turned off beautifully - I can't see any smudging at all. I can only imagine the trepidation that you felt stamping in your new journaling Bible, for fear of messing something up - seems you can throw that fear to the wind, as it turned out fabulous!!

  4. You are a very brave soul. I have thought about bible journaling so many times - but it's not like scrapping where you can just rip the page up and toss it. I have even seen some people use inserts instead of journaling right on the page - that way they can toss it if it goes awry. You are brave! The page turned out so gorgeous and the images are lovely!

  5. Hello Shirley, I've never heard of bible journalling. do you actually stamp into a bible, and how do you cover the text? This is beautiful and I love the sentiment.

    1. Hi Maureen, it is a Bible that is made specifically for Bible journaling. It has blank columns on each side of the scripture to journal or stamp in. Thank you for coming by today.
      Have a great weekend.

  8. It is a beautiful page! I just started my Bible Journaling adventure - I have so far used Colored Pencils - and watercolors with a brush and tonight I tried Watercolor pencils then brushed the colored image with light water to bring the watercolor pencils to life - I also use Die cuts and glue them on my page - a regular Pen to write on the page - you can visit my blog if you would like to see what I have done so far - my Archival links are on the right side of my blog - scroll down - [I have an Inspired Bible Journal] It has some pages already for me to color - I also did a search and founds some downloads and traceable drawings - there is so much one can do in the line of art - I think I have uploaded 3 pages so far - I am loving this journey! http://ilikepaper01.blogspot.com/2016/03/bible-journal-intro-page.html
